Its not what it seems
Its so heavy and flexible. The flexibility is nice and all but it picks up bends easily. My staff came in with a full bend and i cant fix it. It is sturdy and long. But kinda hard to control when twirling if thats what you are wanting to do with it.

Bo staff
The Bo Staff is flexible and I like it that way. If was too stiff it could be brittle enough to break or shatter. I find it to be the perfect flexibility. If I strike an opponent extremely hard it will bounce back and always be ready for the next strike. This is why the Wax Wood staff is popular. It has a give to it. Think of the tree that bends in the wind. It does not break. A tree that is very hard is more likely to break in a strong wind. The bo staff is an excellent weapon and very well made. I give it 5 stars.

too flexible
CONS: The 6-foot bo is really flexible, as in wobbly. Nowhere near the actual feel of a wooden staff, despite similar weight. Mine also arrived with a bend near one end.
PROS: It does have good heft. And even better, easily cut down to smaller size.
The Jo staff and escrima is much better, suitable for combat (practice or actual) or trail hiking.
