Description

The 1942 Combat Sword is inspired by the trusty weapon US Marines carried during World War II. Paying homage to the original, "US 1942" is delicately etched into its 19 3/4" black-coated AUS-6 stainless steel tanto blade. The historically faithful, 27 1/2" overall design is accented with a matching guard and end cap, and a handsome, easy-grip stacked leather handle. A black nylon sheath with belt loop and shoulder strap is included. A beautifully crafted tribute to the Marines who fought and died in Europe and the Pacific in WWII, the 1942 Combat Sword makes an especially thoughtful, heartfelt gift for Marines, WWII veterans, sword and knife collectors, history buffs, WWII/military scholars and anyone who appreciates fine engineering and quality craftsmanship.

nice looking

solid feel, no rattles, out of box edge leaves much to be desired, and as with all stainless, if its not sharp to start with, its hard to put a good edge on it as opposed to carbon steel which is easy.

Nice sword, cheap scabbard

Rather ironic that such a nice Marine version of a Kiridashi should exist. I am very pleased with mine. The scabbard, not so much.

Very Nice

Surprising sword here! I bought it just for a display piece in my shop, but I'm impressed with the fine finish and quality appearance. Great price, too! I had it engraved and that came out perfect! Thanks!

Good Sword

This is one of the best swords I've ever seen for under $30. It's razor sharp out of the box. (I just cut myself on the serrated teeth today) It can take more abuse than some other swords I've seen, though I still only recommend it for light brush work and self defense. Only complaint is the length. The picture looks like it's as long as a standard katana, but it's actually a lot shorter than I expected. Still for $30 you can't go wrong.

Pretty cool sword

the concept i love it, i always loved my kabar but it was stolen and there pretty expensive so havent replaced it yet, so i see this an absolutely loved this sword version. My only gripes are theres a big grinding swoop right in the middle of the back bone at the factory so it Does look flawed (but i imagine its not on all of them) and i dont get the feeling its super stout but i could be wrong? The handle is well made and the blade is very sharp it swipes through cardboard boxes easily and clean and wow especially the serrated section thats like beware sharp.....

Great looking sword. Worth the price. Sharp blade. Only complaint is the safety strap broke very easily and the wood maakes your hands smell funny. Overall a great sword
