This is your basic all business no frills workhorse. It looks the part and it definitely delivers. It's like something that you would dig up after a couple hundred years in a hidden mountain cave or something, except it's shiny and new. Some people may think the handle is too big, but it fits my hand just fine. That part is always going to be subjective. If you have big hands, or you like a knife that you can grab hold of and really use without feeling like you're holding a carrot, then you will like this handle. It may be just a tad on the short side, but in my opinion the handle's thickness makes up for that. The sheath is good quality leather, but the strap is a little loose as another reviewer has mentioned. Even so, I have had no trouble with the knife falling out. It comes plenty sharp. This is a nice and very functional knife in my view and should be a good addition to your collection.

You can't beat this knife for the price. It is well balanced and constructed better than many more expensive knives. The only criticism is the thickness of the handle. A thinner, more ergonomic grip would be a real plus. The full-tang blade is sharp and hardened stainless steel. The knife is durable and useful for many outdoor activities.

It is not like the image above, the Big, Fat, Short, handle is actually wider than the blade by at least 3/8's inch at the guard, it is also much darker. It's also fairly short handled. My hands are at best Medium sized and if I hold it with my thumb on top of the guard my palm hangs over the butt at least an inch. Not that it matters much, but the rivets are evenly spaced across the entire handle not grouped forward as shown. Sheath is poor and the strap won't hold the knife in. The short guard on the bottom of the handle passes easily through when the strap is snapped shut. It doesn't look anywhere close as nice as the image.

TIMBER Rattler is one of the best knives for the price I have in my collection. If your looking for a inexpensive, good looking, and a excellent working knife. You have it with these TIMBER RATTLER. Very nice knife for the money. Like the thick handle, makes for a good grip. The blade looks pretty straight and came nice and sharp.

I was very impressed with this knife as soon as I opened the box. I have arthritis in my hands, so the larger sized handle was perfect for my hand. I am also a stickler for knife sheaths. And once again the leather sheath that comes with the Wise Oak bowie hit true to home. I like this knife very much, and am thinking of getting some more to give as gifts. Thanks BUD-K!!!
