Description
This WWII Japanese Type 98 Gunto Officer's Katana Sword makes a distinguished presentation award for distinguished service or an excellent display piece for an office. This weapon and symbol of rank was used by the Imperial Japanese Army between the years of 1935 and 1945. The replica sword has a clay-tempered 27 9/10”, razor-sharp T10 carbon steel blade, which extends from a decorative, polished brass habaki and tsuba. The wooden handle is wrapped in genuine rayskin and brown cord-wrap with brass menuki and it features a decorative cord tassel. The 39 3/10” overall sword slides smoothly into a black wooden scabbard with polished brass accents. The sword weighs 3 1/2 lbs.
