Based on the published sizing data I ordered a large (36-44) based on my 36" waist. Wasn't even close! the smallest it would adjust was somewhere in the 39"/40" range. I was going to return for the next smaller size (28-34) but I tried one I had in that size (ordered for my wife) and it wouldn't close. Lesson learned: If your waist is between 35" and 40" you are out of luck. I went ahead and sewed a tuck (actually two tucks since I didn't want a huge seam) and seems like that is going to work. I would have returned the item but I live in the country and the time required to drive to the nearest dropoff point, gas, etc. just wasn't worth it for a $13 item.
