Absolutely a brute of a sword. It weighs a bit more than I anticipated but that doesn’t hinder my liking it in the slightest. Came fairly sharp out of the box, but could stand a little time with an Accusharp. If you’re considering buying this beast, think no more. Buy it.

Not as described
I bought this for a friend, as a graduation gift. Upon receiving the sword, he told me to give it three stars because it had good weight and it was practically razor sharp. Though he said that the point was dull and that the overall finish looked as if it were used. Meaning that the paint job was scratched and dull looking. However, I convinced him to give it a try, since appearance isn't everything. Bad mistake, the dam sword cuts grass and cactus well, however it does not even cut cardboard and paper at all. The truth is, the steel feels like stainless steel instead of 1065 high carbon. This is because it was easily dented and upon hitting a rock, it was more damaged than my 420 stainless steel kukri. Though to clarify, I hit concrete with my kukri and it only had two minor chips. The spartan sword had a big one and the shards flew around. Besides the fact that the full tang construction is only held by two plastic pins. By the way, the other reviewers probably only used it as a display piece. Not worth the $30.

Amazing value for the price
At the sale price of $26, this is an incredible steal. This is a heavy duty, beautiful monster. It's intimidating as hell, heavy as heck, and seems solidly constructed. I don't plan on actually testing it or striking anything with it so I can't say anything about its durability, but it looks VERY solid and brutal, but also strangely slender and sexy. If you practice swinging this thing around for any length of time you will gain some muscle. It came sharp. Not razor sharp/paper cutting sharp, but with the brutal weight behind this thing, that's not necessary, and might even have been a hindrance. Amazed at this deal.

Nice
Nicely made. Nice sheath. Weighs 2 lbs (as opposed to the forged version which weighs 4 lbs). Front heavy of course, so makes a great chopper. Not a stabber. If you want something for taking zombie heads in the apocalypse, this will work well :-)

Impressive Sword
From the picture, it looks like a machete, but it's definitely thick enough to be considered an actual sword. It's quite forward heavy for a sword, as its design would suggest, but this just increases it's ability as a chopper. This thing can take abuse that would shatter some $200 swords. The black coating will come off with use, but not very easily. Sword came moderately sharp, it can easily be made to be paper-cutting sharp with an accusharp. With heavy use, there was a very, very slight edge rolling on a tiny part of the blade, but a few strokes with the sharpener and it was good as new. This is excellent for the price.

It’s a MONSTER
Overall this is an excellent blade for the price. I haven’t tested the hardness yet but it seems to be able to get the job done.
It is HEAVY, I mean a good solid massive chunk of steel that feels like it will go through anything without much trouble.
