Much better than expected

For the price I was just expecting a crossbow that would be fun for target practice and nothing much more than that. I am highly impressed with the amount of power this thing packs. Set up was very easy other than the stringing but now that I have a method this will definitely be joining me on a deep woods trip.

I finely got it strung had to take to an archery shop to have it done. They should have supplied the crossbow with a stringer . So far it is a nice bow for the price and for a beginner shooter. I don't think I will be taking it a part until I have a Stringer. It is a good first bow for beginners. So I do recommend you should by one you can't beat the price. However take it to and archery shop to have it strung when you get it, then you need to get your own stinger.

Xbow shooter

This is my first full sized x bow. I like the fact I can fold it down and travel with it. It also keeps the limb tight after lots of shooting. The other non folding types have a set screw in the middle of the limbs. This can loosen with many shots. I gave it 4 stars because the front site is very flimsy. It fell over when i had it propped up against the wall and it bent. Bent back easy. I removed the iron sites and put some weaver rail on it. Now i have a green dot laser on it. Im only shooting about 10 yards because i dont have alot of room. Very easy to cock by hand too. Just use gloves to protect my hands. Got some 18" arrows and cut them down to put fixed broadheads on too. I can punch through about 850 pages of catalog with it. Leaves a 1.5in hole! No toy here :D Id buy this again!

Very impressed

Picked this up for $69 bucks along with the 80lb pistol. It's my first crossbow, but I really was not expecting it to be as powerful as it is. Had to get creative when stringing it, but holy crap, I really did not expect it to bury a bolt 10-12 inches in a hardened archery block. Very impressed, very solid and well made weapon. will be getting the leaper crossbow scope. The 80lb pistol is also nice, shooting 6 inch aluminum bolts reliably though a phone book.

Serious weapon

I bought this crossbow on the Steal of the Day 49.00 price. I favor longbows and recurves and wanted to experience a crossbow. This thing is NOT any kind of toy and packs some serious power. Respect it or you could get hurt. It comes with string and two 16" bolts. I had to get a stringer and a cocking rope-these would have been nice to include in the package but for 49.00 I didn't expect them. It was easy enough to set up the limbs (prods) but NOT at all easy to string the bow. I took my time and finally got it done. The stringer was simple to remove after stringing which is usually not the case with crossbows. Apparently I got lucky. When ready to use, a cocking rope is a much safer and simpler way to cock the bow-trying to pull that much draw weight is beyond most people's ability and can be dangerous. This crossbow has an automatic safety that engages when cocked. It will not cock unless the safety is off beforehand. The butt stock length is OK for me-I am 5'2" and arms to match so this is not an issue for me. Easy to sight in. The bolts included are fine for getting familiar with your crossbow but I got some very nice 20" carbon fiber bolts and it really made a difference. I use straw bales to back my targets and help my arrows/bolts last longer. This crossbow is well built, easy to use (once set up and strung) and fun to shoot as long as you remember it is a powerful weapon and not a toy. 4 stars for no stringer/cocking rope and lack of recommendation to get them. Otherwise a real winner.

WOW

Been wanting a crossbow for some time, this has my name on it ! The folding feature also fits my prepping needs, though you may need time to assemble, still worth trying on hikes or survival treks. Would recommend getting carbon fiber bolts for use, 18-20 inch ,tips of ur choice.
